It’s been 48 days since The Limousine’s music video Internet Killed the Video Star was made public on Youtube. It’s become quite the sensation, at this very moment I see the view count to be 139,372. The comments alone are entertaining.

The San Jose Metro newspaper printed an article about the music video that described it better than I could. The article is now available online on METRO ACTIVE.

Lastly, here are some before and after still shots from my work table. The hardest task was to make all the zombie eyes white, with that glossy/glass look.

I was just notified by an official at Hong Kong’s City Contemporary Dance Company that EYE NO has been selected to play in their biannual dance video festival called DANCING FRAMES in the “Dance and Animation” category. The works chosen in this category are to promote the use of technology in dance film. So kudos are in order for Liane since half the focus here is on the dancing!

I recently finished work on a music video for Enzyme Dynamite as the editor and VFX artist. The video was directed by GinoRocks.

The main procedure I used to create the VFX for the greenscreen shots was to mask my subject, key the green, add in floating screens and random interface objects, make everything hologram & monitor like, add in some flare or space craft outside the windows, and color correct using curves/levels/saturation. My trip to Brazil in two nutshells.

This is a collection of video clips from my vacation in Bahia, Brazil with my wife Liane. We took a road trip to Chapada Diamantina, Brazil’s lost world on the west side of Bahia. The rest of the shots are mainly around Salvador and the beaches up north.

the IKTVS video was shot in two days in the Los Gatos hills. We’re very thankful for the efforts of over 30 volunteer friends and family acting as zombies, and the amazing work of our young pals Sylas and Lyric (and their very patient parents)

With everyone’s combined efforts and talents we were able to create a music video we are extremely proud of for less than $900. (many major label bands spend more than that on catering at their video shoots) Of course $500 of that budget was spent on the station wagon which we took great pleasure in destroying with some duct tape and house paint.

What started as a simple iChat conversation between Eric and Gio about zombies and the lyrics of the song quickly turned into a storyboard and then a full blown production when Dutton Films stepped in to fill the director’s chair.

The cardboard guns were created by the band and our friends, the make up was applied by Ed Martinez.

Special thanks to the Butterfield and Roulette families for allowing us full roam of their beautiful hillside estate.

The video went public on July 17th, 2010 and in the first two weeks has passed 60,000 views on Youtube! We couldn’t be more pleased with everything and we thought a little behind the scenes montage would be a great way for everyone involved in the project to look back at those two great days on the hill.

This is a short film I wrote for my friend, Vanessa Robinson. She acted in my short, Kiss Scene.

The script is actually based on a story my younger brother, Henry, told me about from an experience he had while teaching in South Korea. Of course, some details are shifted around for this movie.

Next week I’ll be shooting a short film in Bahia, Brazil called Influencia.  The shoot will mainly take place in Salvador, the beautiful, bay city that my wife is from.

The cast are all friends and family that have an interest in cinema. I’m looking forward to working with them. It’s been a while since I’ve directed friends, my film-making roots!

The script was written in English and then translated into Portuguese. I don’t speak the language well, so it should be an interesting experience of me flapping my arms around to convey a direction.

It’s been 3 months since production, but the ‘INTERNET KILLED THE VIDEO STAR’ video is finally finished. We’ll be doing a private screening at a cinema next week for cast and crew, and will be premiering online on July 16th via ALTPRESS.COM

The Limousines debut album, GET SHARP, will be released on July 27th and available on iTunes and Hot Topic.

My brother Henry (SwayShah), and my wife Liane were hanging around when we decided to make a video. It was originally just an experiment to see if I was able to replace their bodies with other limbs, but I aborted the project. The footage was so good (and the song performance) that I salvaged the video by making this little musical play of robots.
